We The People Walk and Bike: NM 2040 Transportation Plan

One of the discoveries that has come from my ‘bicycling planning, design, and education for everyone’ initiative has been learning of opportunities to get involved as a citizen.  There is an upcoming Transportation Plan meeting here:

June 4 – Albuquerque
Mid-Region Council of Governments, 809 Copper Avenue, NW
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

You can view the draft plan here:  http://newmexicotransportationplan.com/

The plan is designed to “Improve Safety for All System Users” (Goal 2), and “Provide Multimodal Access and Connectivity for Community Prosperity” (Goal 4).   Take a look and feel free to provide comments, feedback and suggestions to enhance the plan.  New Mexico needs your unique perspective.  Even if it’s as simple as ‘I bike and like that you are including planning for better bicycling for us and future generations’.  Voices from the community provide direction for elected representatives and professional staff.  You can also email comments in.  Bicycling opportunities will take shape depending on how we plan.  Enjoy your weekend bicycling NM.
